RMG excavates marble from its two quarries Ibri and Ibra in the Hajar Mountains.

The deposits are characterized by sheer monolith plates which allow harvesting of perfect square blocks of marble.

The scale of the operations can be seen on the location where the famous Mars, Andalus and Salalah Rose are excavated.

Here the operations involve heavy, specially designed machinery, manufactured by the leading producers. Thanks to the combining technology between chain saw and wire saw, RMG is able to produce the best shaped marble blocks, to assure the maximum required dimensions of slabs. 5000 tones of marble blocks are excavated here monthly.

The marble blocks excavated from RMG’s quarries are highly compacted and have been crystallized to the highest level of marble formulation.

The blocks are big enough to reach the maximum size of the produced slabs of up to 3 by 1.9 meters. That is the most sought after size worldwide, which helps to create any design with minimum waste.

RMG started to excavate blocks at their quarries two years before the factory came up which secured enough blocks to avoid any interruption when the lines became operational.

Around 50,000 extra tons of marble blocks at the quarries in addition to the regular monthly production allow responding to the market demand at anytime.

The transportation of the blocks by trucks takes 4-5 hours to the factory in Muscat. Apart from the blocks stocked at the quarry, more are available in the factory’s yard for the customers to make their choice.
